1. Check for Physical Damage:
   
   1. is punctured or damaged, or has exposed wires. Discard damaged batteries.
   2. is bloated, expanded, swelling or otherwise deformed
   3. has any cell with a voltage of 3.3v. This means less than 9.9v for a 3-cell/11.1v battery.
2. Do not leave batteries charging unattended. Monitor batteries during charging for popping, hissing, smoke, sparks or fire. Also monitor the battery for any swelling or other deformities. Disconnect the battery from your charger immediately.
3. Do not charge batteries near flammable material. Charge batteries in a fireproof container. Do not charge batteries while they are in your robot.
4. Use the Correct Charger: Ensure the charger is designed for the specific battery type you're charging.
5. Avoid Overcharging: Use chargers with overcharge protection, and do not leave batteries unattended while charging.
6. Store Batteries Safely: Store lithium batteries in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Use proper storage bags or containers.
7. Charge at the Correct Voltage: Match the charger's voltage settings with the battery's requirements to avoid overcharging or undercharging.
8. Balance Charging: When charging multi-cell batteries, use a balance charger to ensure uniform voltage across all cells.
9. Handle with Care: Avoid dropping, crushing, or puncturing lithium batteries, as this can lead to thermal runaway and fire.
10. Dispose of Properly: Recycle or dispose of old or damaged lithium batteries in accordance with local regulations. Do not incinerate or puncture them.
