Overview

The ACS712 20A Current Sensor Module provides economical and precise solutions for AC or DC current sensing in industrial, commercial, and DIY electronics systems. Based on the Allegro ACS712ELCTR-20A-T Hall-effect IC, this breakout board offers a low-noise analog signal path and reliable current measurement up to 20 Amperes.

Key Features and Operation

Operating on a single 5V supply, the module outputs an analog voltage directly proportional to the measured AC or DC current, with a calibrated sensitivity of 100mV per Ampere. The integrated copper conduction path has an extremely low internal conductor resistance of 1.2mOhm, minimizing power loss and thermal buildup. Screw terminal blocks are included for convenient wire attachment to high-current loads, while standard 0.1-inch header pins interface directly with microcontrollers like Arduino, ESP32, or STM32.

Applications

This module is suitable for motor speed control, overcurrent protection circuits, battery monitoring systems, smart power switches, and solar charge controller projects.
