The Analog Turbidity Sensor Module measures the clarity or cloudiness of water by detecting suspended particles in the liquid. Utilizing an infrared optical probe, the sensor measures light transmittance and scattering rate to calculate total suspended solids (TSS). As the concentration of suspended matter increases, the liquid turbidity rises and the analog output voltage decreases proportionally.
This sensor module operates on a standard 5V DC supply and consumes less than 30mA of current. It provides both an analog signal output (0V to 4.5V) for precise microcontroller reading and a digital signal output with an adjustable threshold potentiometer. With a rapid response time under 500ms, it is capable of continuous real-time water quality tracking.
The sensor is ideal for water quality monitoring systems, environmental field testing, smart home appliances such as washing machines and dishwashers, hydroponics automation, and educational robotics projects requiring fluid analysis.
