Overview
The Teensy 3.6 is a powerful, breadboard-friendly development board designed by PJRC. Driven by a 32-bit 180 MHz ARM Cortex-M4 processor with a hardware Floating Point Unit (FPU), it provides exceptional computational capabilities and rich peripheral options in a compact form factor. It is ideal for digital signal processing, real-time audio analysis, complex robotics, and high-performance embedded projects.
Performance and Memory Specs
Built around the NXP MK66FX1M0VMD18 microcontroller, the board packs 1MB of Flash memory, 256KB of RAM, and 4KB of EEPROM. Advanced hardware features include 32 Direct Memory Access (DMA) channels, a CRC computation unit, hardware Real-Time Clock (RTC), and specialized cryptography hardware support.
Rich Peripherals and Connectivity
The Teensy 3.6 features an onboard micro SD card socket capable of high-speed SDIO communications, a USB Host connector, 2 CAN bus ports, 62 I/O pins (with 5V tolerance on select pins), 25 analog inputs, and two 12-bit DAC outputs. Communication protocols include multiple SPI, I2C, I2S audio, and UART interfaces.
Software and Prototyping Support
Fully compatible with the Arduino IDE using the Teensyduino add-on, developers can easily write code using standard C/C++ libraries or leverage optimized audio and signal processing libraries developed specifically for the Teensy architecture.
