The ENC28J60 Ethernet Module is a complete, compact network interface solution powered by the Microchip ENC28J60 stand-alone Ethernet controller IC. Fully compliant with IEEE 802.3 standards for 10BASE-T Ethernet, this module integrates a Media Access Control (MAC) layer, a 10BASE-T Physical Layer (PHY), and an 8 KB dual-port SRAM buffer for packet management. It handles complex framing, checksum generation, and retransmission tasks directly on-chip, freeing up valuable processing overhead on the host microcontroller.

SPI Serial Interface and Logic Compatibility

Designed for seamless integration into embedded systems, the module communicates with host platforms using a high-speed Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI) supporting bus clock speeds up to 20 MHz. The board operates at a native 3.3V supply voltage while incorporating 5V-tolerant digital input lines. This allows direct hardware interfacing with a wide range of microcontrollers including Arduino, AVR, PIC, STM32, ARM, and ESP boards without needing external logic level shifters.

Integrated RJ45 Magjack and On-Board Timing

The module features an integrated HanRun HR911105A RJ45 connector, complete with built-in isolation transformers and dual status LEDs for link state and network traffic visual feedback. System timing is driven by an accurate on-board 25 MHz crystal oscillator, ensuring reliable clock generation for both the physical layer operations and the internal SPI logic engine.
