High-Precision Triple-Channel Power Monitoring
The CJMCU-3221 breakout board features the Texas Instruments INA3221 IC, a sophisticated three-channel, high-side current and bus voltage monitor equipped with an I2C and SMBus-compatible interface. Designed to measure both shunt voltage drops and bus supply voltages across three independent rails simultaneously, this module is an ideal solution for precision power telemetry, embedded system diagnostics, and real-time energy profiling.
Advanced ADC and Programmable Filtering
At the core of the INA3221 is a high-accuracy analog-to-digital converter (ADC) featuring customizable conversion times and software-selectable averaging modes. The sensor operates across a wide bus voltage range of 0 V to 26 V, allowing developers to monitor high-side current without affecting system ground pathways. Integrated signal averaging significantly mitigates noise caused by transient switching currents, delivering stable and reliable readings under varying load conditions.
Flexible Diagnostics and System Alerting
For automated system safety and fault detection, the INA3221 provides programmable warning and critical alert outputs. These dedicated interrupt pins can trigger immediate action from microcontrollers such as Arduino, ESP32, STM32, or Raspberry Pi whenever current or voltage thresholds are breached. Configurable address pin settings allow up to four INA3221 modules to coexist on the same I2C bus, enabling comprehensive multi-rail monitoring for up to 12 distinct power rails.
Versatile Application Scope
This power monitoring breakout board is suited for demanding electronics systems that require strict power management. Typical deployment environments include telecom hardware, multi-cell lithium battery charging systems, solar-powered MPPT controllers, power distribution units (PDUs), and single-board computer power profiling workstations.
