The DD05CVSA is an ultra-compact dual-function power management integrated circuit solution combining a single-cell 3.7V/4.2V lithium-ion/lithium-polymer battery charging circuit with a high-efficiency 5V DC-DC synchronous step-up boost regulator. Operating on an input voltage range of 4.5V to 5.5V DC, this module allows seamless charging from standard USB ports, 5V regulated wall adapters, or small 5V-6V photovoltaic solar panels while simultaneously stepping up single-cell battery voltage to a regulated 5V DC output for continuous downstream operation.
High Efficiency Synchronous Boost and Precision Charging
Engineered with a high-frequency synchronous rectification topology, the boost conversion stage minimizes conduction losses to achieve thermal efficiency up to 92 percent. The module delivers an output current of up to 1.2A, making it well-suited for powering power-demanding wireless microcontrollers, cellular modems, sensors, and peripheral hardware. Onboard dual-LED status indicators provide real-time visual feedback for active charging and charge termination/standby conditions. Built with industrial-grade surface-mount components on a high-density FR-4 PCB, the module operates across an extended ambient temperature range of -40°C to +85°C.
Comprehensive Protection and Battery Longevity
The integrated power management IC incorporates precise constant-current/constant-voltage (CC/CV) charging algorithms specifically tuned for 3.7V nominal (4.2V fully charged) single-cell lithium chemistry. Integrated safety features include under-voltage lockout (UVLO) to prevent destructive deep-discharge cycles, thermal foldback regulation to protect against thermal runaway, and short-circuit protection on the step-up output stage. This ensures maximum cycle life for connected 18650 cells, pouch batteries, or custom battery packs.
