The 12V 3A Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) Module is an advanced power management controller engineered to provide uninterrupted, highly reliable DC power to critical 12V electronics. Designed specifically for 3S lithium-ion and 18650 battery configurations with an 11.1V nominal to 12.6V peak operating range, this module features zero-delay automatic switching between primary DC mains power and secondary battery backup. Upon loss of external input, the board instantly transitions load power to the battery pack, preventing system resets, data corruption, or operational downtime in equipment such as security cameras, network transmitters, network switches, infrared devices, and embedded telemetry modules.

Installation, Wiring, and Safety Guidelines

Power wiring should utilize a minimum gauge of 20 AWG, with lead lengths kept under 10 cm to minimize line impedance and voltage drop under full 3A load. For standard 2-wire 3S battery packs, connect the positive and negative leads directly to the BAT+ and BAT- terminals. For 4-wire battery packs featuring individual cell balance leads, surface-mount resistors R16, R17, and R18 must be desoldered and removed from the board before connecting the balance wires to the V1, V2, V3, and Vss pads. To ensure safe initialization, complete all wiring and connect the battery pack as the absolute final step. The board should be mounted in a well-ventilated enclosure to allow passive convection cooling during high-load and active charging operations.
