Functionality and Operation

This integrated circuit decodes four binary-coded inputs into one of sixteen mutually exclusive active-LOW outputs. When both active-LOW strobe inputs are held LOW, the circuit decodes the data on the address inputs to select a single output line. If either enable input goes HIGH, all sixteen outputs are forced to a HIGH logic state, allowing the IC to function seamlessly as a 1-to-16 demultiplexer when data is driven through an enable input.
