The Bourns MOV-14D series radial-leaded metal oxide varistor provides robust overvoltage transient protection in a compact 14 mm disc form factor. Engineered with high non-linear current-voltage characteristics, this component acts as a high-impedance open circuit during nominal operating conditions and rapidly transitions to a highly conductive state during overvoltage events. This transient voltage suppression capability protects sensitive downstream low-voltage DC electronics from inductive switching surges, electrostatic discharge, and transient line spikes.
